Mutual Success Plan
Mutual Success Plan is where you set the goals and KPIs you want to track and watch your progress against them each period.
Where to find it
Goals live on the Dashboard. From the left navigation, select Dashboard (home icon), then open the Goals tab.
Adding a goal
On the Goals tab, select Add Goal. In the dialog:
- Metric (required) — choose a metric from the list. Metrics are grouped by category (Lead Generation, Brand Awareness, Pipeline & Revenue), and each shows a short description of what it measures.
- Add Custom Metric — if none of the standard metrics fit, create your own. Custom metrics require a connected CRM or Marketing Automation integration.
- Name — shown only for custom metrics; give the goal a name (up to 100 characters).
Note: You can't create two goals with the same metric and the same duration.
Setting the goal value
Under Goal Value, choose a Duration:
- Quarterly — enter a target value for each quarter. The current quarter is marked with a Current chip. Leave a quarter blank if you don't want to track it.
- Annually — enter a target value for each year, with the current year marked Current.
- Custom Period — choose a date range and enter a single target value for it.
Target values must be a number of 0 or greater. Select Save to add the goal.
Reviewing progress
Each goal appears as a row showing:
- Goal Name — with a label for the timeframe (Annual goal / Quarterly goal / date range).
- Current — the actual value for the selected period, calculated from your performance.
- Goal — the target you set for that period.
- Projected Achievement — the percentage of the goal you're projected to reach by the end of the period, with days remaining. Hover for the projected value; the estimate adjusts as performance changes.
Use the Current Period / Previous Period selector at the top of the list to switch which period you're viewing.
Note: A goal shows N/A for Current or Projected Achievement when no value is available for that period yet — most common for custom metrics that aren't receiving data yet.
Managing goals
Use the … (ellipsis) menu on the right of each goal row to Edit or Delete it. Deleting asks for confirmation.
Note: The metric can't be changed on a saved goal — you can update the target values, but not the metric itself. To change the metric, delete the goal and add a new one.
Reorder goals from highest to lowest priority by dragging the handle on the left of each row.
Note: A goal marked as a Primary Goal (shown with a PRIMARY GOAL chip) is managed by your Metadata team and can't be edited, deleted, or reordered.
Frequently asked questions
The metric important to my business is not in the list. What should I do?
You can create a custom metric and give it your own name. In the Add Goal dialog, select Add Custom Metric. Custom metrics require a connected CRM or Marketing Automation integration. Once the underlying custom field is mapped and receiving data, the platform tracks progress for it like any other metric.
Can I set goals based on the custom metrics I track in the platform?
Yes. If you have a custom field created in Metadata and mapped to the appropriate field in your Marketing Automation or CRM tool, you can set goals and track progress for custom metrics. Two types are available for each custom field:
- Count (absolute) — the number of records with the custom field populated.
- Cost per (relative) — the cost per record with the custom field populated.
I need to track the progress for my goal on a monthly basis. Can I do this now?
Yes. When adding a goal, set the Duration to Custom Period and choose a date range — for example, a single month. Quarterly and Annually durations are also available.
How can I change the date range for the quarters in my goals?
The date range for quarters is based on the start of the fiscal year you set on the Settings > General page.
