Smart Leads is the default tab of the Leads page. It's your list of campaign-attributed converted leads — every contact who submitted a LinkedIn/Meta Lead Gen form, a landing-page form, or otherwise converted on one of your campaigns. Each lead is credited at capture time to the exact campaign and experiment that produced it. Metadata then auto-enriches each lead with firmographic and contact data (title, company, industry) — that's the "Smart" — but enrichment only adds fields; it never changes which campaign the lead is attributed to.
The attribution model
Direct, capture-time attribution. The lead is bound to the specific campaign/experiment whose form or landing page it came through, using the channel's own submission timestamp. This means Smart Leads are not last-click / multi-touch, not SFDC-/opportunity-based, and not subject to a lookback/attribution window.
How the "attribution window" actually applies
The configurable window (days-before/after-create, days-after-close, domain vs. email matching) lives in Opportunity Attribution Models (Account settings), not Smart Leads. That governs how Salesforce opportunities/revenue tie back to campaigns for reporting — a separate, multi-touch/windowed system. Changing it affects opportunity reporting, not Smart Leads.
FAQ
How is a Smart Lead attributed to a campaign?
Directly, at capture time — bound to the specific campaign/experiment whose form or landing page it came through. No last-click model, no attribution window, no Salesforce involvement in lead→campaign crediting.
Is Smart Leads the same as Opportunity Attribution?
No. Smart Leads is direct lead→campaign capture. Opportunity Attribution Models is a separate system that credits CRM opportunities back to campaigns using configurable models and lookback windows.
Is "Smart Leads" a lead-scoring or MQL product?
No. It's the name for your enriched converted-leads list — there's no lead score or MQL gate on this tab.
Why is a lead under one campaign and not another it also clicked?
A Smart Lead belongs to the campaign that hosted the form it submitted, not other campaigns it clicked.
Tips
Smart Leads = converted leads from your campaigns; External Leads = imported/pixel contacts. Different tabs, different sources.
Enrichment runs asynchronously after capture — a new lead may show campaign attribution immediately but fill in company/title a moment later.
For revenue/opportunity questions, use Opportunity Attribution Models — that's where the window and domain/email matching live.
If leads are missing, check whether they landed as unmapped rather than assuming a window cutoff.
