Sign in and switch between Metadata Classic and MetadataONE
On this page
Metadata has two products: Metadata Classic and MetadataONE. You sign in to both at the same place, with the same Metadata login. Whether you can switch between them depends on your account.
- Go to platform.metadata.io.
- Enter your Email address, click Continue, then enter your password. You can also click Login with Google. If your company uses single sign-on, you sign in through it instead. See How does SSO/SAML work with Metadata?
- Metadata opens the product your account starts in (see the table below).
New to MetadataONE? Use the link in your invitation email to set your password first. If you open MetadataONE directly at platform.metadata.io/m1, click Continue with Metadata.io to sign in.
Which product you start in
| Your account | After you sign in | Can you switch? |
|---|---|---|
| MetadataONE only | MetadataONE | No. There's no Classic to switch to. |
| Metadata Classic with MetadataONE | Your default experience. Unless you change it, that's Metadata Classic. | Yes, any time. |
| Metadata Classic only | Metadata Classic | No. Ask your Metadata contact about MetadataONE. |
Switch between products
Metadata Classic is called SaaS Platform in MetadataONE's menu and Metadata Platform in your Classic profile settings.
From MetadataONE to Metadata Classic
- Click your account name at the bottom of the left rail.
- Click SaaS Platform. Metadata Classic opens in the same tab.
From Metadata Classic to MetadataONE
- Click your name at the bottom of the left navigation.
- Click MetadataONE (marked BETA). MetadataONE opens in the same tab.
Neither option appears on accounts that have only one product.
How long a switch lasts
- You stay in the product you switched to while you work in it. Reloading the page keeps you there.
- Going to platform.metadata.io again, or signing in again, opens your default experience.
- To open MetadataONE directly, bookmark platform.metadata.io/m1.
Change where you start
To land in MetadataONE every time you sign in:
- In Metadata Classic, click your name at the bottom of the left navigation, then click My Profile.
- Under Default experience, choose MetadataONE.
- Click Save.
To go back, choose Metadata Platform instead. The setting is per person, so it doesn't change where your teammates start.
What carries over
- Your login and account. It's the same account in both products.
- Integrations. Ad channels, CRMs and other tools connected in Metadata Classic show on MetadataONE's Integrations screen as connected, so you don't connect them twice. Their settings show Legacy connection · Read-only. To manage one in MetadataONE, reconnect it there; see Manage your integrations in MetadataONE.
What stays in MetadataONE
When you open MetadataONE, a You're evaluating MetadataONE notice explains that MetadataONE runs separately from Metadata Classic. Campaigns, audiences, optimization groups, assets and anything else you create in MetadataONE stay there. They aren't copied to Classic, and changes in MetadataONE don't change your Classic account.
- Tick I acknowledge. The notice can't be closed until you do.
- To stop seeing it, also tick Do not show again.
- Click Continue.
Without Do not show again, the notice comes back the next time you sign in.
Help articles for each product
At help.metadata.io, choose Metadata Classic or MetadataONE at the top of the page. Steps written for one product don't always work in the other. Some reference articles, such as ad specs, apply to both and are marked Also applies to Metadata Classic.
