Credits and billing
On this page
MetadataONE work is paid for with credits. One credit is $1, and your balance is shown in US dollars.
What uses credits
- Every reply from your AI team in chat
- Generating images and rendering videos, in chat or with Create with AI on Assets
- Web searches your team runs
- Building landing pages, in chat or with Create with AI, including researching brand assets and proof
- Suggested next steps after a reply
- Custom reports and analytics questions
- Video calls with Mei, by the minute
Audiences you build in MetadataONE don't use credits.
Check your balance
Click your account name at the bottom of the left rail. The account menu shows your balance; it turns red below zero. Click the balance to open Billing.
You can also go to Settings > Billing. It shows:
- Credit balance and Buy credits
- Payment method, with Add card, Update card or Remove card
- Your transaction history. Filter by Type and Period, or search descriptions. Click a row for its details.
Buy credits
Members who can make changes can buy credits; read-only members can't. If you don't see Billing, contact support@metadata.io.
- In Settings > Billing, click Buy credits.
- Pick $25, $50, $100 or $250, or type an amount.
- If you see Card on file and New card, choose one. With no card on file, enter a new card.
- Click Pay $50 (the button shows the amount you chose).
The credit usually reaches your balance within a few seconds.
When you run out
When your balance reaches zero:
- New chat messages don't run and you aren't charged. An Out of credits card shows the message that didn't run. Click Top up credits and buy credits; your message then runs on its own. If the credit takes longer, click Retry now.
- Create with AI on Assets doesn't start.
- A video call doesn't start: "Not enough credits to start a call. Please top up and try again."
Work that's already running finishes, even if it takes your balance below zero.
Ask someone else to pay
Mei can show an AI credits card. Click Add credits to buy them yourself, or Copy payment link to send a link that lets someone else pay without signing in.
