Build a campaign in the Campaign Builder
On this page
The Campaign Builder is where you set up a campaign's structure, budget and ads, save it as a draft and launch it. Build it yourself, or let Mei build it in chat and finish it here.
Open the builder
- On the Campaigns page, click New Campaign.
- When Mei builds a campaign in chat, the builder opens on the draft once you approve the plan. In chat, click Open in builder on the draft to return to it.
- To open a saved build, click Drafts, search, and pick one.
Set channels and budget
The Channels & budget pane sits on the left. Click its icon beside Campaign canvas to pin it open or hide it.
- Choose an Objective. It decides which channels you can pick.
- Pick Channels: LinkedIn, Meta, Google, Microsoft, Reddit or X.
- Set the Start and End dates for the whole build.
- Optionally turn on Optimization group to group the campaigns for the Optimizer. The group is created once at least 3 of the launched campaigns have a day of data. See Use the Optimizer.
- Optionally turn on Manage Budget to enter one Daily or Monthly budget and split it. With it off, you set a budget on each campaign card. Turn on Split override to enter the amounts yourself.
Build on the canvas
Each selected channel has a tab above the canvas. Click the active tab to choose the ad account. Campaigns launch in the account you pick.
- Use the add buttons on the canvas, such as Add another campaign, to add campaigns, ad sets or ad groups, and ads.
- Click a card to edit its settings: targeting, ad copy, creative and destination.
- A card lists anything still missing. A number on a channel tab counts the problems on that channel.
- Use Zoom in, Zoom out and Fit to canvas to move around.
Save a draft
Click Save draft, enter a Draft name, and click Save draft (Update draft if it's already saved). An unfinished build saves fine, and nothing is sent to an ad platform. An asterisk on Save draft means you have unsaved changes. If Mei saves a newer version while you're editing, choose Load it or Keep mine.
Launch
- Click Launch. The button counts your campaigns, for example Launch 3 campaigns.
- If something is missing, Not ready to launch lists each problem. Click Fix in builder to go to the first one, or Save as draft.
- If the build is ready, it's saved and the launch starts, showing its progress for each channel. You can close the window while it runs.
When it's done, the window says Launched. Click View in Campaigns or Back to builder. A LinkedIn launch can wait up to 3 days while LinkedIn syncs your audience. If a launch fails, click Retry launch.
After launch
A launched build is read-only; what you see is what was launched. Use the strip at the top:
- View launch shows the launch's progress.
- Launch remaining channels launches channels an earlier launch didn't include.
- Duplicate to edit makes a new draft named "(copy)". The launched campaigns don't change.
To manage live campaigns, use the Campaigns page.
