Connect Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) to MetadataONE

Updated Sep 26, 2026 Metadata Classic version
On this page

MetadataONE reads your Facebook and Instagram campaign performance and lead form submissions, and can pause campaigns and change budgets and bid strategies.

Before you connect

  • In Meta Business settings > Accounts > Ad accounts: full control (Admin) or Advertiser access. View-only isn't enough, and partner access doesn't count: the person connecting needs their own access.
  • A Facebook Page owned by or shared with the Business Manager, which the ad account can advertise for, with full control of the Page.
  • Leads access (Business settings > Integrations > Leads access) so Metadata can retrieve lead form submissions.
  • A payment method on the ad account.
  • For Instagram placements: an Instagram business account linked to the ad account. Personal Instagram accounts aren't supported.

Connect

  1. Open the account menu (your account name at the bottom of the left rail) and click Integrations.
  2. Under Ad channels, click the arrow on the Meta Ads row. Review what Metadata will be able to do, tick I have the access and permissions required to connect Meta Ads, and click Continue with Meta Ads.
  3. Sign in to Facebook in the pop-up and approve the request. The screen shows Waiting for Meta Ads authorization… until you finish. If no pop-up opens, allow pop-ups for the site and try again.
  4. When the pop-up closes, Meta Ads Settings opens. Under Ad accounts, tick each account to sync, or click Select all. Each tick saves right away. Click Save to close.

Note: The row shows Finish setup until at least one ad account is selected. A channel can't be left with zero accounts: to stop syncing all of them, disconnect it instead.

Choose the Instagram account

In Meta Ads Settings, the Instagram account card lists the Instagram accounts linked to your primary ad account. Click one to attach it; click its ✕ to remove it. Without one, Instagram placements run without an Instagram account. The settings screen also shows the Business page the ad account uses.

Already connected in Classic?

Your Metadata Classic connection shows up here on its own, read-only, and reporting keeps working. To manage it in MetadataONE, reconnect it: see Manage your integrations in MetadataONE.

Troubleshooting

You use more than one Facebook login

Connect from a private or incognito window so the pop-up signs in with the right one.

The connection stopped working

A Facebook password change, or removing Metadata's app in Facebook, ends the sign-in. Reconnect from the Meta Ads settings.
